Why Am I So Tired? (Hint: It's Not Just Lack of Sleep)

You know those days when you technically got enough sleep, but still feel like you’ve been hit by a truck? Or you’ve been eating well, taking your supplements, moving your body, doing all the right things… but still feel like something’s off?


Sometimes it’s not your body that’s tired — it’s your energy.


I’ve learned through years of working with the body and subtle energy systems that our energy can get drained in ways we don’t always notice at first. It’s sneaky. And often, it’s not until we hit burnout or overwhelm that we realise something deeper has been going on.


Here are some everyday things that can zap your energy without you realising:


  • Absorbing emotions from the people around you (especially if you're a empath or people pleaser)


  • Overthinking or worrying, particularly late at night disrupting your sleep cycle


  • Holding onto old emotional patterns or beliefs that keep looping in the background


  • Saying yes when you mean no, and not honouring your own needs


  • Taking on responsibilities that aren’t actually yours to carry

In my experience with energy healing, I've come to see that our energetic body is just as real and important as our physical body — and just like the physical body, it needs care, nourishment, and time to recalibrate.


Sometimes what we really need isn’t another to-do list, or even more rest. Sometimes we need to exhale energetically — to let go of what isn’t ours, clear the mental clutter, and reconnect with that quiet space inside that knows how to return to balance.



A Real-Life Shift: Claire’s Story


Claire* came to me recently, newly separated and carrying the invisible weight of being a high-achieving single mother. Her symptoms were classic but overwhelming: hot flushes, disrupted sleep, a lost appetite, and a sense that she was barely holding things together.

Despite doing all the 'right' things—eating well, exercising, seeking support—she was exhausted. Her body felt out of rhythm, her emotions were a rollercoaster, and her spark had dimmed.


Through Holistic Energy Healing, we worked to gently release the emotional residue of grief, burnout, and unmet expectations. It’s not about fixing the surface problem; it’s about recalibrating the system as a whole. The body starts to remember its natural flow. The spark returns.

But it takes patience. Just like your body took time to accumulate this stress and exhaustion, it takes time to release it, recalibrate, and allow your energy to flow again.
